Dog training is allowed on Fort Drum during the day-time only and in accordance with NYSDEC regulations. Dogs must remain under the control of the owner/handler at all times. New York State regulations for dog ownership (e.g., registration, vaccinations, etc.) applies on Fort Drum.

Training of dogs on black bears is prohibited on Fort Drum.

Dog owners/handlers should be aware of the danger of concertina wire in the Training Area. Fort Drum is not responsible for any injuries sustained by a dog while on Fort Drum.
